China’s New Hydropower Project to Generate 4.5 Billion Kilowatt-Hours Annually

Chinas

Electricity generation reaches 4.5 billion kilowatt-hours! The Six Rivers Power Station is set to begin operations, contributing to the national energy network. This information was reported on March 13, 2025, at 17:10 by Wen Zheng.

On March 12, the Six Rivers Power Station project was officially recognized for its capacity to generate 52.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This project is crucial for the national energy strategy and will significantly enhance the energy supply in the region.

The Six Rivers Power Station, located in the Arian Rivers area, will be equipped with a total of 250 megawatts of installed capacity and will include the construction of 76 units of hydropower equipment. The facility will have a reserve power system capable of generating 10 million kilowatt-hours in just two hours.

Upon its full operation, the annual electricity generation is expected to reach 4.5 billion kilowatt-hours, meeting the needs of approximately 21,000 households. This will also contribute to a reduction of around 40 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which is equivalent to replacing approximately 200,000 tons of coal.

Currently, renewable energy sources, including hydropower, are continuously improving. The significance of this project aligns with the increasing demand for clean energy solutions. It is anticipated that these developments will enhance the stability and reliability of the electricity supply network.

The Six Rivers Power Station is designed to incorporate advanced technologies and sustainable practices. It aims to optimize energy efficiency and support the growing energy needs of the region while minimizing environmental impacts.

As the project progresses, it will also include the establishment of intelligent monitoring systems that can manage and protect the power supply effectively. This will ensure a stable operation of the electrical grid, contributing to the overall resilience of the energy system.

The project is being developed with a focus on integrating renewable energy resources and creating innovative energy solutions that meet the demands of the future.
