New Energy Vehicles are set to see a continuous increase in the production of power batteries, as companies like Guangxi High-Tech and Jiangsu New Energy collaborate on battery recycling efforts. As of March 12, 2025, there are plans for significant advancements in power battery recycling, with expectations for widespread implementation.

According to Everyday Financial News, Guangxi High-Tech (SZ002074 with a stock price of 23.13 RMB and a market cap of 41.7 billion RMB) has partnered with Jiangsu New Energy (01783.HK) to achieve a breakthrough in battery recycling. The two companies aim to build a robust system for battery recycling and after-sales services, targeting the establishment of 100 service points.

These efforts will focus on creating a comprehensive battery recycling and after-sales service system, which will include the development of efficient battery recycling processes and the establishment of a trading center for battery materials, aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable practices.

Furthermore, Guangxi High-Tech and Jiangsu New Energy are expected to provide technological support and training for personnel involved in the establishment of service stations, while Jiangsu New Energy will facilitate the supply of battery recycling services through its service network.

The companies have announced plans to launch ten service points for testing purposes and will gradually expand to 100 service points. Additionally, efforts will be made to set up a trading center for battery materials, focusing on battery components and related technologies.

In 2025, it is projected that the production capacity of power batteries will reach 82 GWh, and from 2028 onwards, the production capacity is expected to exceed 400 GWh, with the goal of achieving over 2.8 trillion RMB in market value for battery recycling services.

Recent reports indicate that in the first half of 2024, the revenue from electric vehicle battery recycling is expected to be approximately 2.482 billion RMB, reflecting a 4.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Guangxi High-Tech and Jiangsu New Energy will also focus on ensuring the quality of battery components and their recycling processes, aiming for a sustainable future in electric vehicle production.

These strategic partnerships and the emphasis on battery recycling signify a significant shift in the new energy vehicle sector, addressing both environmental concerns and economic opportunities.
