China’s State Grid Corporation has initiated a significant construction project. The Huawei ETF (516180) has recently reported a rise of 0.36% over the last week, while the ETF market is experiencing fluctuations.

The construction of the State Grid Corporation’s new project, which is expected to commence this year, is part of China’s “West-to-East Power Transmission” initiative. The project aims to be completed by June 2027.
This project will start in Shanxi Province and extend to the Yangtze River Delta, ultimately reaching Tianjin City. The transmission line will span 770 kilometers and will include the construction of four substations, with a total investment expected to reach 230 billion yuan.
Once operational, the new transmission line will enhance the energy supply to the Yangtze River Delta region, allowing for a peak power delivery of up to 21,000 megawatts. It is projected to significantly contribute to the area’s energy needs.
As of the end of 2024, the State Grid Corporation has already completed 38 high-capacity projects, ensuring a stable power supply and promoting green energy development.
Regarding investments, the ETF market shows signs of being robust, with the Huawei ETF (516180) and the New Material ETF (516890) both indicating strong potential for growth in the energy sector.
Data indicates that as of February 28, 2025, the cumulative weight of the top ten companies in the ETF sector is at 55.75%, showcasing the concentration of investments in prominent firms.
