Horizon Aeronautics has announced a significant development in its efforts to establish a supply chain for its Skyhawk electric flying vehicle. On March 19, 2025, the company revealed that it has received approval for the supply chain development plan associated with the Skyhawk electric aircraft.
On March 18, Horizon Aeronautics published a notice indicating that it has successfully secured a supply chain development plan for the Skyhawk electric aircraft, which is designed to be a next-generation vehicle powered by electric propulsion. The approval signifies a milestone in Horizon’s strategy to enhance its capabilities in the electric aircraft sector.
The company stated that this development plan focuses on improving the product performance and supply chain resources for the Skyhawk electric aircraft. It aims to tap into the burgeoning electric aviation market and leverage advancements in electric propulsion technology.
By December 2024, Horizon aims to produce Skyhawk electric aircraft, with a target of delivering 15,000 units. Meanwhile, the Skyhawk P7+ model will be powered by an 800V high-voltage battery system.
Recently, Horizon Aeronautics has been actively promoting its electric flying vehicle, which operates under the “Skyhawk” brand. Since their collaboration began in 2020, the partnership has focused on developing new technologies and enhancing production capabilities for electric aircraft, with several models already in the pipeline, including G3, P5, P7, G9, and X9, all offering high-quality electric power products.
In addition, the Skyhawk electric aircraft is expected to have a maximum capacity of 10 passengers, with a flight speed of up to 80 knots and an altitude capability of 3,100 feet.
Furthermore, Horizon’s electric aircraft system can support 8C continuous discharge, ensuring optimal performance during high-demand flight operations. The company is committed to delivering reliable and efficient electric flight solutions.
Looking ahead, the Chinese aerospace industry is projected to expand significantly, with estimates suggesting that by 2035, the market for electric aviation in China could reach 3.5 million units. This growth is fueled by the increasing demand for advanced electric flying vehicles.
In this context, Horizon Aeronautics, along with other industry players, is preparing for the CIBF2025 event scheduled for May 15-16, 2025, in Shenzhen. The theme of the event will be “Green Future of Aviation,” focusing on the latest advancements in electric flight technologies.
