Tongwei’s TNC High-Efficiency Module Achieves a Record Conversion Efficiency of 25.28%! Breaking Industry Records Again!
On March 20, Tongwei Co., Ltd.’s Photovoltaic Technology Center announced that its TNC-G12R module achieved a front power output of 682.8 watts (an increase of about 60 watts compared to the mainstream power output of similar products currently on the market) and a conversion efficiency of 25.28%, as certified by the international authority TÜV. Moreover, the TNC-G12 module, sized at 2384*1303mm, reached a power output of 778.5 watts (also an increase of approximately 60 watts) and a conversion efficiency of 25.06%. This marks a new milestone in efficiency and power output for two mainstream models of TOPCon modules.
This record-breaking achievement can be attributed to the innovative efforts of Tongwei’s photovoltaic technology research and development team. They utilized various techniques, including tubular PECVD poly deposition, Poly Tech, EPT passivation, and screen printing, combined with optimized optical and electrical designs of the modules. Additionally, the application of high-throughput dense packing technology allowed for an enhancement of over 19.3 watts in power output for the TNC-G12R 66 version, with a 0.72% increase in efficiency, while the TNC-G12 66 version saw a power increase of 15.1 watts and a 0.48% efficiency improvement.
According to available information, Tongwei has been strategically positioned in the TOPCon technology sector, leading the development of the industry’s first G12 PECVD Poly battery pilot line technology. They have also pioneered the promotion of large-size PECVD technology, filling a gap in the industry and achieving innovative breakthroughs in TOPCon battery manufacturing technology. As per statistical data from InfoLink Consulting, PECVD solutions currently hold a 56% market share in the 852GW solar cell production capacity.
In 2023, PECVD technology was featured as the cover article in the renowned photovoltaic journal, Progress in Photovoltaics (PIP). In 2024, Tongwei’s independently developed “high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar battery” was recognized as a “major technological equipment product in Sichuan Province,” marking a significant breakthrough for solar batteries in the province.
