Tongwei’s TNC high-efficiency module conversion efficiency has surged to 25.28%, setting a new industry record!

On March 20, Tongwei Co., Ltd.’s Photovoltaic Technology Center announced that, following tests by the internationally recognized certification body TÜV, the Tongwei TNC-G12R module, measuring 2382*1134mm, achieved a front power output of 682.8 watts (approximately 60 watts higher than the current mainstream power for similar mass-produced models), with a conversion efficiency of 25.28%. Meanwhile, the Tongwei TNC-G12 module, at a size of 2384*1303mm, reached a power output of 778.5 watts (also about 60 watts more than similar models currently on the market), with a conversion efficiency of 25.06%. These advancements have once again broken the efficiency and power records for the two main types of TOPCon modules.

This record-breaking achievement was made possible by Tongwei’s photovoltaic technology R&D team through the optimization of optical and electrical design, utilizing advanced techniques such as tubular PECVD poly deposition, Poly Tech, EPT passivation, and screen printing. Additionally, the implementation of high-throughput and high-density technologies contributed to a power increase of over 19.3 watts for the TNC-G12R 66 version, alongside a 0.72% efficiency enhancement, while the TNC-G12 66 version saw a power boost of 15.1 watts and a 0.48% efficiency increase.

According to information available, Tongwei has made long-term investments in the TOPCon technology sector and has successfully completed the industry’s first G12 PECVD Poly battery pilot line technology development. This initiative has positioned Tongwei at the forefront, pioneering large-size PECVD technology and filling a significant gap in the industry while achieving innovative breakthroughs in the TOPCon battery manufacturing process.

Data from InfoLink Consulting shows that PECVD solutions currently hold a 56% market share in the 852 GW solar cell production capacity. In 2023, PECVD technology was featured as a cover article in the well-known photovoltaic scientific journal Progress in Photovoltaics (PIP). Furthermore, in 2024, Tongwei’s independently developed “high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar cell” was recognized as a “major technological equipment first set product” by Sichuan Province, marking a significant milestone in the province’s major technological equipment list for solar cells.
