Based on the recommendations from the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, the “Deepening New Energy Market Reform” (document number 136) encourages the introduction of new energy pricing mechanisms that will facilitate market-based transactions. This will establish a “new energy sustainable development pricing mechanism,” with policies designed to stimulate the growth of enterprises in this sector.
“From the perspective of the 136 document, although Gansu is currently not a major player in the energy sector, it is essential to develop the leading role in this market,” said an official. The province aims to open up its energy market to new energy sources and aims to play a larger role in the future.
