CIHC2025

The International Hydrogen Conference 2025 (CIHC2025) successfully commenced on March 26, 2025, at the National Convention Center. The event focuses on the forefront of the hydrogen industry, providing a platform for global dialogue, collaboration, and exchange, aimed at promoting energy transformation and sustainable development worldwide.

CIHC2025 is organized by the China Hydrogen Alliance and the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation, with strong support from the National Energy Administration and the National Intellectual Property Administration.

During the main forum, keynote addresses were delivered by Bian Guangqi, Deputy Director of the Energy Conservation and Technology Equipment Division of the National Energy Administration; James George, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in China; Pang Guoying, Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government; and Yan Guochun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of the State Energy Group. Prominent experts including Gan Yong and Peng Suping, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as Zheng Nanfeng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, presented keynote reports.

The conference officially launched the 2025 Hydrogen Energy Specialized Entrepreneurship Competition. The China Hydrogen Alliance will collaborate with cities such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Ordos, and Yangzhou to host three major events: technology roadshows, digital simulations, and equipment testing. Furthermore, the conference announced significant cooperative outcomes between the China Hydrogen Alliance and several organizations, including the 21st Century Agenda Management Center, the Chinese Patent Information Center, and the Chinese Society of Metals, releasing reports on the Development Roadmap for Hydrogen Technology in China, Global Hydrogen Patent Models and Insights, and Technology Roadmap for Key Materials in the Hydrogen Sector.

Over 1,000 representatives from various sectors, including national energy authorities, local governments, hydrogen demonstration zones, international hydrogen organizations, embassies, research institutions, universities, leading enterprises, and specialized small and medium enterprises participated in the event.

In addition to the main forum, several specialized meetings were held, including the China Hydrogen Alliance Council, a seminar on the Green Hydrogen Production, Storage, and Transportation Innovation Union, a discussion on the 15th Five-Year Hydrogen Development Strategy, an international seminar on the Development Technology and Applications of Marine Hydrogen Energy, the annual meeting of the China-IRENA Cooperation Hydrogen Working Group, and a forum on Hydrogen Production and Financial Innovation and International Cooperation. These meetings addressed national strategic development directions such as policy guidance, application demonstration, technological innovation, international cooperation, and industrial-financial collaboration, and released five authoritative reports on the hydrogen industry, including the China Hydrogen Investment and Financing Report and Prospects for Marine Hydrogen Energy Development.

More than 400 hydrogen and fuel cell companies showcased over 1,000 new technologies, products, and application scenarios at the conference. Major enterprises such as State Energy Group, Dongfang Electric, State Power Investment Corporation, State Grid, China Aerospace, China Shipbuilding, and China CRRC, along with international representatives like Bosch, LONGi Hydrogen Energy, and Sunshine Hydrogen Energy, participated in the event. The city-themed pavilions highlighted the achievements and innovative practices of hydrogen pioneers in regions like Beijing, Hong Kong, Ordos, Suzhou, and Yangzhou, creating a platform for technology demonstration, ecological showcasing, and collaborative innovation, further cementing the core role of global hydrogen technology exchange and industry cooperation.

During the main forum, the Seventh Council Meeting of the First Council of the China Hydrogen Alliance approved the applications of 58 enterprises to join the alliance. This brings the total number of member units in the China Hydrogen Alliance to over 310, covering 27 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across the country.

The International Hydrogen Conference and the International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Exhibition, initiated by the China Hydrogen Alliance in 2021, has grown in scale and influence over three editions, establishing itself as a premier platform for research, innovation, and project releases in the hydrogen sector. The conference has previously announced important research findings such as the China Hydrogen Industry Development Report and initiated projects like the Hydrogen Island in Ordos and the Hydrogen Leader Action, attracting thousands of representatives from national ministries, academicians, local governments, state-owned enterprises, large international organizations, and over 800 leading hydrogen enterprises, while receiving extensive coverage from major media outlets.
