GoodWe: Green Electricity is Within Reach with Integrated Development of “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence”

On March 20, the 10th China Energy Development and Innovation Conference was held in Beijing, co-hosted by the China Industrial Development Promotion Association, the Hydrogen Energy Branch of the China Industrial Development Promotion Association, and the Wind and Solar Storage Integration Development Branch of the China Industrial Development Promotion Association. The conference, themed “Innovation Drives Energy Transition, Collaborative Construction of a New System”, attracted representatives from government agencies, research institutions, energy companies, and international organizations.

Through the main forum and multiple specialized sub-forums, the conference engaged in in-depth discussions on energy policies, technological innovations, and industrial collaboration, aiming to promote high-quality energy development under the dual carbon goals.

During the afternoon sub-forum titled “Multi-Energy Collaboration: Technological Innovations for Accelerating the Construction of a New Energy System”, experts engaged in dialogues around the challenges of reaching carbon peak. Wang Yingge, Vice President of GoodWe Technology Co., Ltd., emphasized that the core of the future energy system lies in the integrated development of “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence”. This approach aims to achieve comprehensive collaboration in energy production, transmission, consumption, and storage through a smart energy platform, virtual power plants, and digital trading methods. This model is seen as a key pathway to enhancing the utilization of renewable energy and optimizing the efficiency of energy systems, thus facilitating the achievement of carbon peak targets.

GoodWe’s Exploration of the “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence” Integrated Strategy

GoodWe’s integrated strategy is based on insights into the global energy revolution and development trends. With over a decade of experience in power electronics technology, grid technology, and energy storage technology, GoodWe is pursuing an integrated strategic development around “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence”. This is being accomplished through forward-looking investments in hardware and software products such as inverters, photovoltaic building materials, energy storage systems, charging piles, heat pumps, and the smart energy WE platform, creating an energy closed-loop ecosystem where green electricity is produced, consumed, and traded locally.

As distributed energy scales up, the trend towards local consumption is becoming mainstream. The future energy system will increasingly rely on renewable energy facilities, such as rooftop photovoltaics, community storage, and microgrids, forming a supply network where “electricity comes from nearby sources”. Additionally, the marketization of electricity trading will position green electricity as the value hub of the “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence” system. As mechanisms like the electricity spot market and green certificate trading are refined, users will be able to directly participate in the market through smart energy platforms. In this process, digital technology will serve as a core support, with the smart energy platform employing AI and other digital technologies to construct a collaborative operational system for “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence”, enhancing the economic viability of green electricity.

The development of the integrated “Source-Grid-Load-Storage-Intelligence” approach not only provides a pragmatic response to carbon peak challenges but also reflects the trend of energy companies transitioning from being mere equipment suppliers to energy service providers. With advancements in technology, this model is expected to accelerate the construction of new power systems, driving the energy revolution from technical breakthroughs to ecological reconstruction in the future.
