2025 China Sustainable Fuel Development Summit to Kick Off on April 19 in Changsha

2025

The 2025 China Sustainable Fuel Development Summit is set to take place on April 19, 2025, in Changsha, Hunan. This summit is organized by the Carbon Neutrality Professional Committee of the China Energy Research Society, the Yunnan Clean Fuel Association, and the Zhejiang Green Dynamic Alcohol Hydrogen Technology Service Co., Ltd., with Shandong Liquid Sunshine New Energy Development Co., Ltd. as the host.

As the first industry event in China focused on the entire industrial chain of methanol fuel under the framework of the Energy Law, this summit carries the theme “Empowering through the Energy Law: Creating New Productive Forces“. It aims to bring together top global experts, leading enterprises, and policymakers to discuss breakthroughs in sustainable fuel technologies and pathways for industrialization, contributing to the green energy revolution.

The summit will feature prominent figures in the field, including Professor Liu Ke from the Australian National Academy of Engineering, Jiang Bing, Chair of the Carbon Neutrality Committee of the China Energy Research Society, Professor Yao Chunde, an expert in internal combustion engine fuels, and Professor Xiao Guoxing, an authority on energy law. They will engage in in-depth discussions on key topics such as innovations in methanol fuel technology, relevant policies and regulations, and business models.

This year’s summit will focus on the transformation and upgrading pathways of the green energy industry. It will invite national energy leaders, academic experts, and representatives from leading enterprises to collaboratively explore innovative development models for the methanol economy within the context of the dual carbon strategy.

As the revolution in green energy progresses, the transformation of traditional gas stations and fueling stations has become a significant trend in the industry. The summit will feature special sessions on the reconstruction and new construction of methanol comprehensive energy stations, focusing on practical case studies from project initiation to implementation. This aims to assist traditional energy companies in quickly seizing policy benefits and achieving green transformation, covering essential processes like project approval, land planning changes, and safety and environmental assessments. Experts will provide on-site analysis of policy support and practical key points for new and reconstructed projects.

The summit will also delve into the implications of shifting consumption tax policies on traditional gas station operations, inviting tax experts to share compliance strategies that help gas stations avoid tax risks. Discussions will revolve around how gas stations can enhance profitability through diversified operations amidst policy adjustments.

In an innovative move, the summit will introduce a closed-door negotiation segment that facilitates precise connections between demand-side entities such as coking groups, logistics companies, shipping firms, methanol fuel producers, industrial boiler users, and automotive methanol fuel users, along with suppliers.

Additionally, an exhibition area dedicated to methanol energy equipment will showcase cutting-edge developments in storage and transportation equipment, refueling systems, methanol stoves, methanol heating furnaces, intelligent detection technologies, and solutions for the recycling of waste oils.

Geely Auto is set to present practical demonstrations and promotions of methanol hybrid commercial vehicles and methanol fuel cell passenger cars, highlighting the potential applications of methanol fuel in the transportation sector.

The summit will extensively discuss methanol fuel conversion technologies for diesel and passenger vehicles, presenting real-world data on heavy truck modifications and comparisons of passenger vehicle economics. This aims to provide technical references for the industry and offer cleaner, more environmentally friendly energy solutions for society.

Furthermore, the summit will establish a connection platform between gas station enterprises and Shandong local refining companies, eliminating intermediaries and providing high-quality channels from major local refineries in Shandong. This initiative aims to improve fuel quality and safety while reducing operational costs for gas stations.
