CIES2025: Unveiling Boundless Opportunities at China’s Premier International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition

CIES2025:

China Energy Storage NetworkNews – A bustling crowd and limitless opportunities! The CIES2025 China International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition has grandly opened.

The CIES2025, hosted by the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association and supported by over 800 organizations, officially commenced on March 23, 2025, at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. The exhibition opened concurrently on March 24.

This year’s conference received joint support from over 500 research institutions and enterprises across the upstream and downstream sectors, gathering more than 1,000 industry chain companies and over 60,000 guests from around the world. These participants include manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers of energy storage products and solutions, integrated energy service companies, grid and power supply companies, electricity sales companies, power generation groups, installers, system integrators, energy storage project planners, EPC contractors, local energy storage industrial parks, and more.

For four days, stakeholders from the energy storage industry converged in beautiful Hangzhou to collaboratively construct a new energy storage ecosystem, creating a high-quality platform for transaction, exchange, learning, and sharing.

The CIES Exhibition is one of the most professional events in the new energy storage sector in China and has been held for 15 consecutive years. It has witnessed the remarkable leap in China’s energy storage industry development, resonating with the main and sub-forums of the China International Energy Storage Conference as a “thought engine.” The event brings together mainstream manufacturers, industry leaders, and scholars from home and abroad, forming an innovative matrix covering the full chain of “production, education, research, and application” in the energy storage sector. The conference explores new technologies and scenarios for the future of energy storage and conveys new insights and opportunities for industry development, becoming a vital barometer for global energy storage technology innovation and international cooperation.

The exhibition focuses on the latest cutting-edge technologies, products, trends, developments, and innovations in business models. Over the past 15 years, it has provided collaboration opportunities for key participants in the energy storage industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, integrators, installers, service providers, project developers, planners, and startups.

This year’s exhibition features highlights such as an area of 50,000 square meters, where leading industry companies and elites gather in four themed exhibition halls sponsored by Tongfei Co., Ltd., Wanjin Energy Storage, XJ Group, and Youdan Technology. The focus is on global cutting-edge technologies and practices in energy storage, actively building communication channels between government and enterprises, exploring new paths for high-quality development in the energy storage industry, and promoting deep connections of high-end innovative factors such as “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” technologies, capital, and services.

Additionally, the exhibition continues to assist exhibitors in expanding brand influence and recognition, actively exploring domestic and international market channels, enhancing the competitiveness and market share of self-controlled products, and accelerating the core value of rapidly growing Chinese energy storage brands. This contributes to building a green, efficient, flexible, intelligent, and sustainable modern energy system with “energy storage wisdom” and “energy storage solutions.”

At this year’s exhibition, over 300 leading domestic energy storage brands showcased innovative applications and cutting-edge technologies in energy storage. These exhibitors include top-ranking energy storage system integrators, supporting device providers, project developers/EPC contractors, testing and certification agencies, and financial service providers from various fields of China’s new energy storage industry, as well as business agencies, international companies, international trade associations, and regional representatives from over 20 countries.

On the first day, the exhibition site was bustling with excitement, attracting more than 60,000 registered visitors. The exhibitors presented a wide array of products and solutions, including integrated systems such as large-scale energy storage systems, commercial and industrial energy storage systems, and home energy storage systems; system components like battery cells and packs, PCS, BMS, EMS, temperature control, and fire safety; energy storage batteries including lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, lead-acid batteries, sodium-sulfur batteries, aqueous sodium-ion batteries, new batteries, nickel-hydride batteries, hydrogen storage and fuel cells, and supercapacitors; system equipment, and more.

Notably, as the ownership of new energy vehicles rapidly increases and the electricity market continues to improve, vehicle-grid interaction will embrace unprecedented development opportunities as an essential component of the future smart grid and clean energy system. Over ten automotive companies, including GAC Toyota, NIO, Leapmotor, Mercedes-Benz, Geely, BYD, Tesla, and more, participated in the exhibition, collaborating with industry leaders to explore new ideas, business opportunities, and shared prospects in vehicle-grid interaction.

New product developments reflect market competition and the direction of new technologies in the industry. In 2024, the rapid development of the energy storage industry will significantly accelerate the iteration of products and technologies across the energy storage supply chain. Keeping a close eye on new technologies and product development dynamics, new product launches have always been a highlight of the energy storage conference.

The CIES2025 continues to feature new product launches as a significant segment of the conference, setting up three dedicated sessions for unveiling new products, providing an excellent platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and products, with over 30 new products making their global debut. For instance, ZhiGuang Energy Storage, a pioneer in cascade-type high-voltage large-capacity storage technology, displayed its large-capacity cascade high-voltage storage technology plan with a single unit capacity of 50MW to 100MW, featuring grid construction and black start functions.

The exhibition also saw Shanghai Xihang Technology unveil its 125kW grid-type commercial and industrial energy storage PCS, capable of seamless switching between grid-connected and off-grid modes, with a unique switching solution that reduces overall costs by 6%. PaiNeng Technology actively explored the large storage market, launching a 6.9MWh battery container product characterized by low cost, high energy density, long cycle life, high reliability, and safety. Compared to the 5MWh container, this product achieves a comprehensive cost reduction of 15% and a space utilization increase of 35%.

Moreover, JunNeng Technology introduced the new GSCOOL liquid cooling thermal management unit, while Wanjin Energy Storage shared its second-generation energy storage product, and Jianjie IoT launched the EMS500.
