The 61MW/123MWh energy storage power station, commonly referred to as the “Steel Energy Storage Station,” is located in Nanjing and was built by Sanjiang Electric Power and Fengxun Power Construction. Since it began operating in January 2024, this facility has consistently run for over 10,000 hours, accumulating a peak electricity charge of 10 million degrees. The station has effectively reduced operational costs, providing significant savings on electricity bills and maximizing the efficiency of its energy storage system.
As of now, the energy storage station has achieved an impressive operating efficiency of 90.29%, as certified by the National Energy Administration. This efficiency has further enhanced the competitiveness of the energy storage market, making the Steel Energy Storage Station a benchmark example of deep integration with new energy technologies.
The operational success of the Steel Energy Storage Station can be attributed to its rigorous design and maintenance processes. The facility’s advanced control system allows for real-time monitoring and adjustment, ensuring optimal performance. Furthermore, it employs an AI-based energy management system (EMS) that predicts energy production and optimizes charging and discharging strategies, making it a leader in the industry.
