On May 17, Guoxuan High-Tech will unveil its new high-safety solid-state battery, which boasts an impressive energy density of 300Wh/kg. This announcement was made by Zhu Xingbao, the Chief Scientist of Hefei Guoxuan High-Tech Power Energy Co., during the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum 2025 held today.

Last year, Guoxuan High-Tech introduced the “Jinshi Battery,” which utilizes solid-state technology and achieves an energy density of 350Wh/kg. This marks an increase of over 40% compared to mainstream ternary lithium batteries. Thanks to its solid-state technology, the Jinshi Battery successfully passed a thermal testing at 200 degrees Celsius, exceeding the national standard of 130 degrees Celsius, thereby providing enhanced safety for electric vehicles.

In November of last year, Guoxuan High-Tech revealed on their investor interaction platform that the company has made significant progress in both semi-solid and solid-state batteries. For semi-solid batteries, they offer a product lineup that includes cylindrical, prismatic, and pouch types, with specific models and performance metrics tailored to different customer needs. In terms of solid-state batteries, the company focuses on the development of sulfide solid-state batteries and has successfully prepared automotive-grade solid-state batteries.

The company currently employs a dedicated research and development team of over 200 individuals working on solid-state batteries. By the first half of 2024, they successfully developed an automotive-grade solid-state cell known as the “Jinshi Battery,” with plans for small-scale production and vehicle testing set for 2027.
