On April 2, Polar Star Energy Network learned that Sungrow is the primary candidate for the procurement of a 13MW/30MWh energy storage system for the State Power Investment Corporation’s 50MW wind power project in Anhui, with a bid price of 17.1546 million yuan, equating to 0.572 yuan/Wh.

Recently, Sungrow’s 100MVA “Drive Giant” officially commenced operation at a motor testing project in Yangjiang. This is one of the highest power-rated drive equipment available in China, capable of reaching a maximum operational power of 100MVA. To date, this “Drive Giant” has successfully completed four type tests and multiple overspeed and overload experiments, further validating Sungrow’s technological leadership.

On March 26, Sungrow showcased its “zero-carbon park” and energy base solutions at the 15th China International Clean Energy Expo in Beijing, highlighting innovative technologies and an open collaborative ecosystem aimed at achieving safer, more efficient, and worry-free energy solutions.

On March 24, it was announced that Sungrow was the second candidate for the inverter procurement for the first phase of the Shilin photovoltaic power station, which has a total installed capacity of 100MW, with the first phase starting construction in June 2009 and completed in April 2010.

On March 20, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Sungrow and China Energy Conservation Wind Power Co., focusing on wind power equipment supply, project development, energy storage, and hydrogen energy technologies.

On March 31, the first digital energy factory was launched by China Construction Group in Bao’an District, capable of producing charging piles and energy storage cabinets.

As the demand for commercial energy storage surges, the actual investment returns remain a challenge for many industry professionals. The current competitive landscape is marked by a price war, with recent bids dropping as low as 0.478 yuan/Wh.

In the context of accelerating global energy transformation, new energy storage has become a key area attracting substantial investments, leading to a rapid expansion of the market. However, this rapid growth has resulted in increased competition and challenges for many participants.

As of April 1, 2025, various provinces have begun adjusting their peak and valley electricity prices, with Anhui announcing a 2-3 hour extension of its low valley price period.

Additionally, on April 2, DeYe Co. announced plans to invest over 2 billion yuan in a new energy storage production line capable of generating 16GWh annually.

This report encapsulates recent developments and trends in the commercial and industrial energy storage sector, reflecting both the challenges and opportunities within this rapidly evolving market.
