Following the spread of this rumor, the Nasdaq index initially bounced back from a 5% drop to rise over 4%, and the S&P index increased by more than 3%. However, after White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt labeled the news as “fake,” U.S. stocks reversed course and fell, leading to significant market volatility.
