Kewei Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Kewei Environmental) has partnered with Apollo Power Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Apollo Power) to establish an industrial-grade energy storage system. This collaboration was formalized at the 2025 Kaohsiung Smart City Exhibition, where both parties signed an Energy Service Company (ESCO) cooperation agreement for post-industrial energy storage.
The project will integrate the Tesla Megapack energy storage system with AI-driven smart scheduling to create a new milestone in energy efficiency and carbon reduction for the waste management industry.
Professional Energy Storage Solutions to Enhance Operational Resilience
As a leading enterprise in the field of special waste disposal, Kewei Environmental has a contract capacity exceeding 1,000 kW, requiring continuous operation for 24 hours a day. This collaboration will establish three Tesla Megapack energy storage systems at the Daliao plant, with each unit having a capacity of 979 kW/3,916 kWh. These systems utilize the latest energy storage technology and feature:
- Fast response capability: The system can react in less than one second, enabling a full black start function.
- Continuous power supply: In the event of a power outage, it can continue to supply electricity to the entire facility for 2-4 hours.
- Smart scheduling system: Integrates Apollo Power’s patented EMS system with AI algorithms for load forecasting and optimized scheduling.
Innovative ESCO Business Model
This project will utilize the ESCO business model, which offers several advantages:
- Zero upfront investment: Companies do not need to invest in initial construction costs.
- Revenue-sharing mechanism: Creates a win-win situation through energy savings sharing.
- Professional operation and maintenance management: Comprehensive system maintenance and optimization services provided by Apollo Power.
Five Major Benefits to Enhance Corporate Competitiveness
The collaboration aims to:
- Maximize economic benefits: Anticipated annual savings exceeding 25%.
- Effectively respond to price adjustments: Address widening peak and off-peak price differences.
- Minimize operational losses: Reduce unexpected downtime.
- Protect critical equipment: Safeguard the anaerobic digestion system and maintain stability in the incineration control module.
- Optimize power quality: Suppress voltage spikes and drops to protect high-precision equipment and extend equipment lifespan.
Smart Management and Sustainable Development Strategy
The project aims to establish a comprehensive Energy Management System (EMS), incorporate AI forecasting models, and optimize equipment operation schedules. It aligns with renewable energy obligations for large electricity consumers, enhances corporate ESG performance, and strengthens the industry’s sustainable competitiveness.
