Demand forecasting, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement! The first phase of the energy storage project in Fengyang, Anhui, by CHINT Power, has successfully been connected to the grid.

With the arrival of spring, the newly grid-connected energy storage station shines brightly under the sun. Fengyang, once famous for its flower drum opera and farming culture, has transformed from relying on nature to generating electricity through photovoltaic power.

Recently, the large-scale commercial energy storage station in Fengyang, utilizing CHINT Power’s liquid cooling energy storage system, successfully connected to the grid with a total capacity of 15 MW/45 MWh. This station will implement peak shaving and demand management based on the electricity usage characteristics of the factory, effectively reducing electricity costs while serving as an emergency backup power source to ensure uninterrupted supply.

As the demand for intelligent energy management continues to rise, commercial energy storage is becoming a key strategy for companies to reduce costs and increase efficiency. After a thorough analysis of the factory’s electricity consumption, CHINT Power developed a customized solution to meet client needs.

CHINT Power’s liquid cooling energy storage system is renowned for its efficiency, safety, and high density. With an IP54 protection rating, it can adapt to various extreme environments. In terms of performance, the energy storage system employs intelligent liquid cooling temperature control technology and patented liquid cooling plate design, which not only effectively extends battery life but also enhances grouping efficiency and optimizes space utilization. The use of precise temperature differential control and new thermal conductivity technology improves heat exchange efficiency by 10%, ensuring the system operates efficiently and stably.

For reliability, the system is designed with dual fire protection systems at the pack, cluster, and cabinet levels, coupled with a comprehensive insulation design to ensure safety throughout the system’s lifecycle. The project has successfully connected to the grid and operates using a “two charge, two discharge” strategy.

To accommodate the factory’s specific needs, the energy storage station is equipped with an intelligent demand forecasting feature. By integrating the factory’s production schedule, weather data, and historical electricity load, CHINT Power’s liquid cooling energy storage system can effectively predict future electricity demand, dynamically optimizing charging and discharging strategies. It charges during low electricity price periods and discharges during peak times, achieving both peak shaving and demand management. According to estimates, this feature could help clients reduce their overall electricity costs by 15%-20%, maximizing energy utilization efficiency.

Looking ahead, CHINT Power will continue to deliver efficient, stable, safe, and reliable energy storage system products to help clients save energy and generate revenue, aiding in the energy transition.
