1.3GW Solar Power Plant Connected to the Grid! Combined Energy Acquisition Strategy “Energy Stability Solution”
Date: 2025-03-18 11:42:00
Recently, a 1.3GW solar power plant located in the Tarim Basin has successfully connected to the grid and begun operations. This facility, covering an area of 3.5 million square meters, is a flagship project for the national energy acquisition strategy. The project utilizes high-efficiency N-type 630W solar modules, providing significant energy output and reliability, which will contribute to the region’s energy stability and development.
It is estimated that this plant will generate approximately 21 billion kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to replacing 62 million tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by 161 million tons. This makes a substantial contribution to local energy structure adjustment and carbon reduction goals.
The Tarim solar power plant is the largest of its kind in China and the second-largest globally, operating in a region with high solar irradiance and minimal wind interference. However, the prolonged challenges in solar energy conversion efficiency have restricted local economic development and energy balance.
Through the construction of large-scale solar power plants, effective utilization of abundant solar resources is achievable, along with overcoming barriers related to climate conditions and wind speed. The project has been designed to ensure operational efficiency, providing stable power supply for the grid.
By 2024, it is expected that the TOPCon technology will achieve advancements, leading to higher efficiency and energy production capabilities. The introduction of the i-TOPCon technology, with an efficiency rate of 26.58%, will further enhance the plant’s output, with modules potentially reaching output levels of 30-40W more than previous generations.
As a leader in the energy field, the combined efforts of the solar energy sector will continue to push for improved technology and solutions, providing more efficient and sustainable products to meet global energy demands.
