Launching Blue Sail, Illuminating the Future | The “Blue Sail Project” Distributed Photovoltaic Project at Beihai Shipyard Commences
On March 25, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the distributed photovoltaic project on the roof of Beihai Shipyard, part of the China Shipbuilding Group’s “Blue Sail Project,” was held at the facility.
The first phase of the project is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year. Once operational, it is projected to generate approximately 26.5874 million kWh of electricity annually, which will contribute to a reduction of around 21,908 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, demonstrating significant green benefits.
To further harness the potential for carbon reduction, the second phase of the “Blue Sail Project” is currently undergoing technical validation. This phase aims to expand production capacity and enhance the efficiency of clean energy utilization.
In the future, as the “Blue Sail Project” progresses, the rooftop distributed photovoltaic project at Beihai Shipyard will not only provide substantial economic benefits to the company by lowering energy costs but will also have far-reaching social effects, supporting the national goals of achieving “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.”
