Latest Developments in PV Technology
We are excited to share that the world’s first perovskite/silicon tandem module, rated at 808W, has been developed by Trina Solar, setting a new record! Additionally, 31.27% efficiency has been achieved by Lightyear Technology with its all-perovskite tandem cell.
In further advancements, the first 210 series modules have received UL 2000V certification. Furthermore, Jinglong’s heterojunction photovoltaic modules have successfully passed the TÜV salt spray test at level 8, and Chint New Energy has received CNAS laboratory accreditation for two of its facilities.
Industry Updates
The National Energy Administration has issued a notice related to new energy and energy storage. Meanwhile, Hebei is progressively advancing distributed PV development, and Guangdong has clarified that there is no requirement for self-use ratios in distributed systems. In the U.S., the IRA subsidies have been frozen, leading to significant dissatisfaction among homeowners.
Moreover, the European Union’s carbon tariff policies are impacting the PV sector, and new regulations are set to define the minimum self-use ratios for commercial PV systems, marking a significant step in local governance.
Research and Innovations
Recent studies have highlighted the performance of N-type TOPCon cells, and various companies are pushing the boundaries of efficiency and technology in PV modules. The focus on quality and certification is paramount, with TÜV Rheinland certifying multiple products in the industry.
As we look ahead, the global market for PV systems continues to evolve, with strong growth projections for 2024, especially in the U.S., where an additional 50 GW of PV installations are expected.
We invite you to join our community, share your insights, and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the photovoltaic industry!
