31.27%! Recently, Guangyin Technology has achieved another milestone in the field of all-perovskite tandem solar cells, setting a new world record for solar energy conversion efficiency. The company reported that its all-perovskite tandem solar cell reached an impressive 31.27% efficiency, certified by the National Photovoltaic Quality Inspection Center. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 30.58% set by Guangyin Technology in February 2025, reinforcing its leadership in the all-perovskite tandem technology sector.

This result not only exceeds the theoretical limit for crystalline silicon cells of 29.43% but also signifies the entry of all-perovskite tandem technology into a new era of high efficiency, opening up new avenues for the industry.

The improvement of nearly 2 percentage points in less than a year is part of a continuous trend. Over the last three years, Guangyin Technology has consistently broken world records for perovskite photovoltaic cells, including three records for all-perovskite tandem cell efficiency. Beginning with a record-breaking efficiency of 29.34% in May 2024, the company has now achieved 31.27% in just under a year, demonstrating a pace of advancement that far exceeds the industry average.

This rapid technological evolution is driven by Guangyin Technology’s dual-track R&D strategy, which focuses on maximizing the performance of single-junction cells to provide a solid foundation for the development of all-perovskite tandem cells. The breakthroughs in all-perovskite tandem technology are fundamentally linked to the maturity of single-junction technology.

  • In January 2025, Guangyin Technology developed a perovskite unit cell (1 cm²) with a solar energy conversion efficiency of 26.50%, setting a new world record (National Photovoltaic Industry Metrology Testing Center).
  • In December 2024, the efficiency of the perovskite unit cell (1 cm²) was raised to 26.34%, again breaking the world record for single-junction perovskite solar cells (National Photovoltaic Industry Metrology Testing Center).
  • In November 2024, the efficiency was further improved to 26.14% and 26.20%, marking the first time a single cell has surpassed 26% globally, once more breaking the efficiency world record (National Photovoltaic Industry Metrology Testing Center).

1200cm² Perovskite Module Steady-State Efficiency World Record:

  • In December 2024, the steady-state efficiency of Guangyin Technology’s 30cm x 40cm large-size perovskite solar cell module reached 21.1%, achieving two world record tops in a year in the NREL Champion Module Efficiencies Chart.
  • In November 2024, the stability efficiency of the 30cm x 40cm perovskite solar cell module topped the Solar Cell Efficiency Tables published by Professor Martin Green (Edition 65).

1200cm² Perovskite Module IV Testing Efficiency World Record:

  • In January 2024, Guangyin Technology further increased the efficiency of the 30cm x 40cm perovskite module to 22.57%. The company also achieved the industry’s lowest hysteresis effect index of just 0.15% during testing of the 1200cm² perovskite cell at the National Photovoltaic Industry Metrology Testing Center, significantly improving the accuracy of perovskite cell testing.
  • In December 2023, the efficiency was raised to 22.07%.
  • In October 2023, the 1200cm² perovskite single-junction solar cell module achieved a third-party certified efficiency of 21.63%, breaking the world record.
