The 2025 China Intelligent Electric Vehicle Technology and Supply Chain Exhibition Kicks Off on March 27!
On March 27, the 2025 China Intelligent Electric Vehicle Technology and Supply Chain Exhibition officially opened at the Chongqing International Expo Center. The event coincided with the 36th Annual Conference of the Chongqing Automotive Industry and the first “Science and Innovation Chongqing” bi-monthly forum of 2025, as well as the second Chengdu-Chongqing Automotive Supply Chain Conference.
Under the theme “Building New Productive Forces Together, Constructing a New Industrial Ecosystem”, the exhibition aimed to explore forward-looking trends, interpret new industry policies, and foster ecological cooperation. It was supported by organizations such as the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, and co-hosted by the Chongqing Society of Automotive Engineering, Chengdu Automotive Industry Association, and other industry leaders including Changan Automobile and Seres Group.
Opening Ceremony and General Assembly
The opening ceremony and general assembly were presided over by Huang Zhongqiang, Chairman of the Chongqing Society of Automotive Engineering and Chief Expert at Chongqing Changan Automobile. The event was attended by over a thousand representatives from the automotive industry, including leaders from the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress and renowned experts in the field of new energy vehicles. Among the speakers was Sun Fengchun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles.
In his address, Zhang Xinghai, Chairman of the Seres Group, emphasized that new energy vehicles have become a critical engine for productive forces and the main direction for the global automotive industry’s transformation towards green development. He highlighted Chongqing’s ambitious goal of becoming a hub for intelligent connected new energy vehicles and the ongoing construction of a modern manufacturing cluster.
Key Highlights of the Exhibition
The exhibition spanned approximately 15,000 square meters and featured 165 leading automotive companies and supply chain enterprises from around the world. It showcased a complete industrial chain for intelligent electric vehicles, including new materials, key electrification components, smart technologies, and digital manufacturing. The first day attracted 6,500 professional visitors, with over 2,000 advanced automotive technology products on display, providing a stunning visual experience.
Notable displays included Changan Automobile’s participation with its core suppliers and brands such as Changan Qiyuan and Avita, alongside innovative technologies like high-integration gigabit processors. Other exhibitors included major industry players like BYD and Qingling Motors, showcasing their latest advancements in electric vehicles and components.
Second Chengdu-Chongqing Automotive Supply Chain Conference
The second Chengdu-Chongqing Automotive Supply Chain Conference included forums and “one-on-one” procurement matchmaking sessions. The event attracted procurement leaders from 21 automotive companies and representatives from 200 supply chain enterprises. It played a significant role in building a resilient supply chain ecosystem.
During the forum, leaders from various organizations shared insights on procurement needs and industry developments, setting the stage for effective collaboration between manufacturers and suppliers.
Concurrent Activities and Community Engagement
To promote positive energy within the industry, the conference also held the 5th Annual Awards Ceremony to recognize outstanding achievements such as “Annual Vanguard” and “Most Beautiful Craftsman”. Additionally, the conference featured various forums focusing on future technologies and innovations in the automotive sector.
A highlight of the event was the Youth Automotive Technology Festival, which attracted over 400 students from local universities and schools, providing them with immersive learning experiences about automotive technology.
