Carbon Neutrality! Shandong Electric has unveiled a groundbreaking “Golden Secret” in the new energy sector, focusing on energy storage with an automatic registration feature on their primary platform.
Located in the scenic area of the Daqing River and the Shandong Yellow River, this project marks a significant milestone in the era of renewable energy development. The Daqing River 150MW/300MWh energy storage power station has been operational for nearly half a year, setting a benchmark for the construction of cutting-edge energy systems. Shandong Electric aims to enhance renewable energy integration, positioning itself at the forefront of energy transformation.
This project is situated in the southern region of the Shandong province, utilizing 5MW of energy from Shandong Electric’s centralized flow conversion system, which integrates four 1250kW energy storage converters into a cohesive unit. The energy storage system utilizes a “6th generation single-phase flow” configuration, ideal for the latest 1250kW models of Shandong Electric’s PCS technology. Compared to the common 12-phase flow systems, this design achieves a direct flow connection that reduces the connection impedance by 50%, thereby enhancing the system’s efficiency and economic viability.
As a unique benchmark for energy storage power stations, this project employs a “capacity guarantee + supply service + peak shaving” model, focusing on economic feasibility and social value while effectively addressing the energy storage challenges presented by the “Golden Secret.” Following its launch, the project is projected to deliver an average annual output of 48 million kilowatt-hours, with an annual savings target of approximately 160 tons, and a reduction of 425 tons of carbon emissions annually. This initiative will contribute to Shandong’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality while enhancing the reliability and flexibility of its energy supply system.
Under the push for carbon neutrality and the electric power market’s dynamic changes, Shandong Electric’s new generation PCS has introduced solutions with high performance density, high efficiency, and high availability, which are expected to significantly lower the cost barriers for energy storage enterprises. In the future, Shandong Electric plans to accelerate the application of energy storage technology, providing innovative solutions to the new energy power system and furthering its goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
