Hello everyone! Do you see this vast array of solar panels in front of us? Today, we will discuss the fire safety knowledge related to electricity usage at solar power plants.
On March 27, at the rooftop solar power plant of Huali Technology Co., Ltd., the Fire Rescue Brigade of Lin’an District in Hangzhou and the State Grid Hangzhou Lin’an District Power Supply Company launched an online interactive live broadcast. This event aimed to provide the public with a deeper and more intuitive understanding of solar electricity and fire safety knowledge through on-site experiences and expert explanations.
In recent years, with the rapid development of new energy technologies, solar power plants have gained significant attention as green and clean energy facilities. However, the safe operation of these plants faces numerous challenges. To enhance public awareness of solar power plant safety, the two organizations decided to collaborate on this innovative live broadcast event.
“As we can see, there is a device operating on-site. Can you tell us what it is used for?” As the host Wang Yuetong finished speaking, the camera shifted to a smart solar panel cleaning robot in action.
“This is a smart solar panel cleaning robot. Its primary function is to clean bird droppings and dust from the surface of the solar panels to improve the power generation efficiency of the solar power plant,” explained Mao Yufeng, an employee of the State Grid Hangzhou Lin’an District Power Supply Company. “If bird droppings and dust remain on the solar panels for an extended period without cleaning, they can negatively affect the panels.”
Bringing the classroom to the solar power plant, the live online teaching using 5G technology marks a first for the Lin’an power grid. This interactive demonstration, breaking the boundaries of space, transformed safety training from a “one-way transmission” into an “immersive experience,” effectively merging electrical safety and fire safety.
The multidimensional training approach, combining “power experts explaining principles” with “fire safety experts teaching response procedures,” enables employees to understand the mechanisms behind safety hazards while also mastering practical emergency response operations.
Moving forward, the Fire Rescue Brigade of Lin’an District and the State Grid Hangzhou Lin’an District Power Supply Company will focus on areas such as solar power plant operation and maintenance, fire safety risk assessments for energy storage plants, and electrical line and facility upgrades in urban villages and older neighborhoods. They aim to deepen the “electricity + fire safety” collaboration mechanism, ensuring that the bright “electricity red” and “flame blue” colors serve as the safety foundation for protecting countless homes.
