Exciting Crowd and Unlimited Opportunities! The 15th China International Energy Storage Conference & Exhibition (CIES2025) officially opened on March 23, 2025, at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. This event is hosted by the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association, with the support of over 800 organizations. The exhibition commenced on March 24, attracting more than 60,000 guests and participating companies from around the world.
Over 1,000 companies are participating, including manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and service providers of energy storage products and solutions, as well as comprehensive energy service companies, power grid and utility companies, power generation groups, installers, system integrators, and planners of energy storage stations. Additionally, various stakeholders from the upstream and downstream sectors of the energy storage industry are present. This four-day event aims to build a new ecosystem for energy storage, providing a high-quality platform for transactions, exchanges, learning, and sharing.
The CIES exhibition is recognized as one of the most professional events in the new energy storage sector in China. For 15 consecutive years, it has witnessed the rapid development of the energy storage industry in the country. The conference serves as an intellectual engine, convening leading manufacturers, industry experts, and scholars to discuss new technologies and opportunities for the future of energy storage, creating an innovative framework that encompasses the entire energy storage value chain.
The exhibition focuses on the latest technologies, products, trends, developments, and innovations in business models. Over the past 15 years, it has provided networking and collaboration opportunities for key participants in the energy storage sector, including manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and service providers.
This year’s highlights include an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, featuring four themed pavilions sponsored by leading companies such as Tongfei Co., Wan Jin Energy Storage, XJ Electric, and Youdan Technology. These pavilions focus on cutting-edge technologies and practices in the energy storage field while promoting communication between government and enterprises, exploring new paths for high-quality development.
The event also supports exhibitors in enhancing their brand influence and expanding market channels, contributing to the growth of China’s energy storage brands. More than 300 leading domestic energy storage manufacturers showcased advanced technologies and innovative applications. These exhibitors included top energy system integrators, supporting device providers, project developers, and international business representatives from over 20 countries.
On the first day, the exhibition was bustling with activity, registering over 60,000 attendees. The showcased products and solutions included integrated systems (large storage systems, commercial and residential storage systems), system components (cells and PACKs, PCS, BMS, EMS, temperature control, fire safety), and various battery technologies (lithium-ion, flow, lead-acid, sodium-sulfur, and supercapacitors). Additionally, physical storage technologies such as flywheel storage, compressed air storage, and thermal storage were presented.
Notable exhibitors included Nanhu Power Supply, Pylon Technologies, and other key players in the energy storage battery and PCS sectors. The conference highlighted the potential for vehicle-grid interaction, especially with the increasing number of electric vehicles. Major automotive companies such as GAC Toyota, NIO, and Tesla participated, discussing new ideas and opportunities for vehicle-grid integration.
With the rapid growth of the energy storage industry, the pace of product and technology iteration is accelerating. CIES2025 will feature special sessions dedicated to the launch of over 30 new products, showcasing the latest advancements in energy storage technology. For example, Zhiguang Energy demonstrated a high-capacity cascade storage technology solution with a single unit capacity of 50MW to 100MW, capable of grid construction and black start functionalities.
In summary, CIES2025 serves as a vital platform for showcasing innovations, facilitating collaboration, and driving the future of the energy storage industry towards a greener, more efficient, and sustainable energy system.
