Carbon Neutral Era: A Greener Future – The 2025 Huaxia Dual-Carbon Energy Development Conference Successfully Held

On March 27, the 15th China International Clean Energy Expo sub-forum, the 2025 Huaxia Dual-Carbon Energy Development Conference, took place at the National Conference Center in Beijing. Themed “Carbon Neutral Era: A Greener Future”, the conference was jointly hosted by Huaxia Times and the Capital Science and Technology Development Strategy Research Institute (CISTDS), along with support from the Huaxia Dual-Carbon Energy Research Institute and the Energy and Industry Work Committee of the China International Investment Promotion Association. Many leading companies, including Yunda Co., Ltd., Tongwei Co., Ltd., Chint New Energy, JA Solar Technology, Jinko Solar, and LONGi Green Energy, provided their support. Other participants included Sungrow Power Supply, Hengli Petrochemical, Haibo Technology, Pylon Technologies, China Tianhua Hydrogen, LuLi Group, Huiju Technology, and Tonghui Energy.

After four successful iterations, this forum has evolved into a premier platform for discussions on energy sector trends, addressing development challenges, and formulating collaborative strategies. The conference yielded significant achievements, including the release of high-quality development initiatives in various sectors of photovoltaic energy storage, providing clear guidance and standards for future industry growth. Additionally, the event featured the awarding of appointment letters to the expert advisory team of the Huaxia Dual-Carbon Energy Research Institute.

As a sub-forum of the 15th China International Clean Energy Expo, the conference attracted over a hundred frontline energy experts and industry leaders, all gathered to discuss new developments in the sector. The expo showcased a collaborative model featuring the three exhibitions of photovoltaic, energy storage, and hydrogen energy, creating an international platform that covers all scenarios in clean energy and strives to establish a global zero-carbon economy ecosystem.

During the opening address, Feng Huijun, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Huaxia Times, noted, “After years of development, China has established a relatively complete and advantageous new energy industry chain. Recently, our renewable energy capacity has consistently achieved new breakthroughs, and renewable energy generation continues to rise steadily. However, the path to new energy development is not without challenges, including technological bottlenecks, cost control, market mechanisms, and supply chain security.”

Guan Chenghua, President of CISTDS, emphasized that since the implementation of the “dual-carbon” strategy, China has led industrial transformation through institutional innovation, establishing a “1+N” policy system that accelerates the energy transition. As we mark the five-year milestone of the dual-carbon strategy, it is important to acknowledge that energy transition has entered a critical phase, requiring ongoing technological breakthroughs and improvements in governance capabilities.

Li Jun, Secretary-General of the Energy Industry Cooperation Work Committee of the China International Investment Promotion Association, further emphasized the need for a systematic approach to solve development challenges. With dual pressures of energy security and low-carbon transition, we must build a new energy system that features complementary energy sources and intelligent efficiency, balancing the development of traditional and renewable energy.

The conference also included a keynote speech by He Xiaofei, Technical Service Director of the Photovoltaic Business Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd. He stated, “Innovation is the driving force behind breakthroughs. This year’s Two Sessions highlighted the integration of technological and industrial innovation, transforming scientific breakthroughs into productive forces. In the photovoltaic sector, this means developing innovative technologies that can be mass-produced.”

Other speakers included the Product Department Director of JA Solar Technology, who discussed the rapid advancements in photovoltaic technology, and emphasized the need for Chinese enterprises to invest more resources in research to ensure sustainable development in the industry.

The roundtable discussion, moderated by Li Weilai, Editor of the Energy Department at Huaxia Times, featured deep dives into topics such as “New Energy’s Internal Competitiveness and Global Opportunities.” Participants included experts from various organizations who analyzed both the opportunities and challenges in exporting green products.

As the conference concluded, it announced the launch of the 2025 High-Quality Development Initiatives for the Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industries, aiming to unify efforts and provide guidance for the healthy and rapid development of these sectors. The event also witnessed the expansion of the Huaxia Dual-Carbon Energy Research Institute’s advisory team, welcoming several authoritative figures from the industry.

With the conference’s significant impact and live streaming coverage, it ensured the dissemination of vital insights across various media platforms, reinforcing its role as a leading event in the clean energy sector.
