On May 17, Guoxuan High-Tech is set to unveil its brand new solid-state battery, which boasts an impressive energy density of 300Wh/kg.
During the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum held on March 30, 2025, Zhu Xingbao, the Chief Scientist of Hefei Guoxuan High-Tech Power Energy Co., Ltd., announced the upcoming release of this high-safety solid-state battery. This new battery technology follows the introduction of the “Jinshi Battery” last May, which utilized full solid-state technology and achieved an energy density of 350Wh/kg, surpassing traditional ternary lithium batteries by over 40%.
The Jinshi Battery successfully passed a rigorous thermal test at 200 degrees Celsius, exceeding the national standard of 130 degrees Celsius, thereby providing enhanced safety for electric vehicles.
In November of the previous year, Guoxuan High-Tech disclosed on an investor interaction platform that the company has made advancements in both semi-solid and solid-state batteries. For semi-solid batteries, the company offers a range of products including cylindrical, rectangular, and soft-pack options, tailored to meet the diverse development and production needs of various clients. In terms of solid-state batteries, the focus is primarily on the development of sulfide-based solid-state batteries, with successful achievements in automotive-grade solid-state battery production.
Currently, Guoxuan High-Tech has a dedicated research and development team of over 200 individuals working on solid-state battery technology. In the first half of 2024, they successfully developed the automotive-grade solid-state cell known as the “Jinshi Battery,” with plans for small-scale production and vehicle testing scheduled for 2027.
