Novelis High-Strength Aluminum Alloy Materials Support Ideal Auto’s Lightweight Upgrade
Changzhou, March 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Novelis, a global leader in sustainable aluminum solutions and a pioneer in the aluminum rolling and recycling industry, has officially announced its collaboration with Ideal Auto to develop the application of LeS6 Ultra (Novelis Advanz™ 6HS s650-T6) aluminum alloy materials. This high-strength aluminum alloy is capable of serving as a structural component, thanks to its excellent mechanical properties, good formability, and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for new energy vehicle structural parts.
In Ideal Auto’s new vehicle models, the use of LeS6 Ultra materials achieves approximately a 35% reduction in weight compared to traditional steel structures, effectively enhancing vehicle efficiency and range.
To ensure the product meets Ideal Auto’s stringent requirements, Novelis has provided CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) crash simulation data and stamping feasibility analysis, along with corrosion testing comparisons. Moving forward, leveraging the outstanding and robust manufacturing capabilities of the Changzhou plant, Novelis will strongly support Ideal Auto’s new model’s formal mass production and capacity ramp-up with Advanz™ 6HS s650-T6 materials.
